About the Presenter, Steve Hays
Steve Hayes is the Assistant Manager for Diversity Recruitment, Inclusion and Special Programs at Penn State University. He has developed, designed, and implemented internships and other programs targeted to increase the diversity of Penn State’s workforce. Steve has also developed mentoring programs and has facilitated various diversity courses, new initiatives, new employee orientation, and strategic planning. He is also very active in leading recruiting efforts for the University and has served on various committees. Steve is responsible for coordinating the Staff Assistant Training Program, Professional Entry Program, Staff Information Technology Program, the Finance & Business Mentoring Program, the Finance & Business Diversity Internship Program, the Multicultural Staff Support Center, the Diversity Talent Bank, the Penn State H.O.S.T. Program, and the Penn State Intercultural Staff Mentoring Program. Prior to joining Penn State, Steve was the Director of Operations for Sera-Tec Biological in Pittsburgh, PA. Steve holds a B.A. degree in Liberal Arts from Penn State; is a 1998 graduate of the Leadership Centre Count;, Past-President of the Forum on Black Affairs; and, is the 2007 recipient of Penn State’s Dr. James Robinson Equal Opportunity Award.
